It was a pretty nice weekend. I didn't work long OR late on Friday; I took some comp time and didn't go in until the afternoon. I made it to Wendy's house right on time for our regular Friday night thing, which was fun as always, with Candace's amazing stress-killing custom blender drinks and a great dinner that Julie made. Saturday I got up early and did some stuff around the house and mailed some packages out, then drove up to just_cyd's house for SNB, joined by ericainohio and frumpenstein and another nice woman they know from the stitching store. We ate some good bbq, fussed over Erica's adorable babies, and got our stitch on. People had some unexpected and very much appreciated post-birthday surprises for me, including stitching charts, flowers, stitching goodies I've had my eye on for a while, Starbucks $, and a skin for my Zune. In the evening, Coyote, his roommate, and I went out to hear miz_anneliese's bf's band play, but we unfortunately arrived just after their set ended. It was kind of a weird night for bar culture, but it's always good to be with good friends and fun new friends (Anneliese, you should ask Aaron if he remembers the funny compliment he gave me while he was a little toasted). Today there was sitting in the sun, watching cutie-pie kids hunt for Ostara eggs, and taking Harley and Georgia to the dog park. The park was crazy crowded today and there were a lot of other beagles and bassets there. Harley had a great time last time but he seemed a little stressed today. Georgia always seems to have an okay time but she likes to stick really close to us. I would never trust her off-leash on a hike or anything - she is, after all, a beagle - but in the dog park, she's never more than a few feet away from me. Then Mike and I grabbed a couple of beers and some dinner, and I think I'm gonna read for a while now. It sure is nice to see spring finally getting here. I really do like winter, but it's great to see flowers starting to come up. Some red and pink tulips are coming up in my yard, and the landscaping at the hospital is really beautiful. I saw what I think are some wild bluebells the other day. Now Georgia and Harley are all worn out and they're snuggling next to each other - and me - on the couch. It's kind of nice - Pancake and Georgia were very friendly but they never had a lot of physical contact with each other. Harley and Georgia cuddle and snuggle all the time. It's very cute. | | Sunday, January 18th, 2009 | | 10:34 pm |

Mike just called from home...apparently Harley ate a bird...in our bedroom. He said there's no body to be found, but there are feathers strewn *everywhere.* About once a day Mike reminds me of why we should have selected another dog (a certain, particular dog that he wanted) rather than Harley. This was today's reason. | | Wednesday, November 19th, 2008 | | 8:36 am |

yay I have ink
we got through a huge chunk of my tattoo today. what I am having done is a maple branch that crosses my shoulders in the back, with leaves that are turning from green to orange, and a bird is flying off the end of the branch. he finished the bird entirely and he did the whole outline of the branch & leaves with a little shading. I will need to go back for shading and color on the leaves, but this was a good intermediate stage to leave off at. I'll try to get a picture soon. The bird wasn't really painful at all and I kind of enjoyed the sensation and wanted more. The branch was a little more intense going all the way across my back and across some shoulder and neck territory. I kind of just tranced out and let the discomfort take my mind off some other crap. | | Thursday, September 11th, 2008 | | 9:46 am |

Tim's (adult) daughter came by last night while he was out. That was kind of amusing, because she didn't know he had rented the room out, and there I was just bopping around the kitchen making soup. I wanted to make cookies too, but it was getting late. Maybe today. It's a little after 6 AM and I'm on the shuttle bus to work because I could only book analysis time on the flow cytometer at 8 am and I have to prep the samples first. Dangit. I'll go home early and take a nap before I go out again tonight...and more. Maybe cookies then. | | Thursday, August 28th, 2008 | | 10:24 pm |
Day 2
Day 2 at Tim's. I haven't been getting a lot of sleep lately and I found myself almost irrationally sleepy at work by late afternoon. I'm actually going to go in for a while on Saturday to catch up a bit. I almost never work weekends but I just feel like I've really been off my game. As tired as I was, I was too restless to nap when I got home and I ended up just talking with Tim for a while. I shopped for groceries and made a batch of vegetarian chili. I don't know how to cook for just 2 people, let alone just one. Not too exciting, but I think I'm going to like it here. Tim's out now and it's just me....I have to be at work super-early so I should go to bed soon. Don't you wish your life was this exciting? | | Friday, August 15th, 2008 | | 7:44 pm |

I'm off work today...we're on our way to Lexington to trade Mike's car in. We had a big talk last night...his family is asking questions about what's going on with us. I think it's fine to tell them we're having problems, and maybe Mike's brother or his wife can handle some specifics if Mike wants to share with them, but it could be incredibly awkward if he reveals much more than generalities to his parents. They are wonderful people and they have always been kind to me, but this kind of situation is not familiar to them. They can't handle it, and it's none of their business. I told Mike it's his choice to share what he wants to with his family, but if we're together in the long term he may find me not around at the holidays anymore....i would probably be persona non grata. so it's up to him what to do. I'm just tired. This is me. I love two people. I guess if you want to be with me this is what you get. I'm sure simpler and more pleasant people to deal with are out there but this is me. My old therapist retired, but he recommended someone to me and I made an appointment for this week...she specializes in GLBT issues so I guess I won't send her over the edge. | | Friday, July 4th, 2008 | | 3:44 pm |
